Shish Tawouk with Garlic Cucumber Sauce

  • 1kg Shish Tawouk
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons mixed spices
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 4 Lebanese bread or Arabic flat bread loaves
  • 1 cup cucumber
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5-8 lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  1. Take the Shish Tawouk out of the freezer and leave until fully defrosted.
  2. Once fully thawed, mix the chicken with the lemon juice, spices, oil, and pepper and put aside for 30 minutes.
  3. To prepare the garlic sauce, mix 1 cup of cucumber, 1 cup of yogurt, 2 minced garlic cloves, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the chicken on skewers and grill them at 180oC for 15 minutes.
  5. To serve as sandwiches, wrap the Shish Tawouk in Lebanese or Arab flat bread with 1 teaspoon of garlic sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes.
